Happy Day we are back! So sorry all this has been a bit wacky! I have been busy with so many things, and then CHA so please forgive me!

Ok let's get started again...

Our challenge today is nice and simple... Re-create your favorite Fairy Tale, but give it a wicked, grunge, funky, fun, and scary Twist! Simple yeah?

Okay so let's check out what the DT has prepared for you, and all the details on this

Pretty cute stuff eh? So today we are going to make this challenge run for a four weeks!

The prize for this will be a Guest DT spot... and next time around we will be releasing a new DIGI line! Whoohoo! Yep SBS style of course and it will be Awesome!

The challenge starts today and will go through February 28th! The winner will be announced with our next Challenge on March 6th. You can use any image from any company!

Our challenges will start to run on a bi-weekly basis starting March 6th! whohoo

SO get your images out, get your favorite Fairy Tale book out, and get to altering it your way!

Time for a Revamp!

Hello! Alison here, and I have some news to share with you. After much thought, the gals of the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls feel that we need to take some time to do a little bit of revamping. Change things up a bit. We have gotten some suggestions from our devoted followers, and we have quite a few ideas of our own up our sleeves. So if ya give us a little time...you will be thrilled to see what we've come up with! I'm not going to give anything away, but I think you're really going to like the changes.

So how's about you meet us back here on January 31st for our first challenge of 2012? Tell all of your bloggy friends to stop by too. I promise, you'll be glad that you did! We'll see you in a couple of weeks!

Dysto..what?
A dystopia (from the Greek δυσ- and τόπος, alternatively, cacotopia,^[1] kakotopia, cackotopia, or anti-utopia) is the vision of a society that is the opposite of utopia. A dystopian society is often a planned structured society in which the conditions of life are deliberately made miserable, characterized by poverty, oppression, violence, disease, scarcity, and/or pollution for the benefit of a select minority or some unnatural societal goal.
Sounds simple when it's put like that lol!

Let me tell you there are loads of Dystopian Films for you to choose from, so many in fact you'll be spoilt for choice.

Welcome back to Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls, it's time for Challenge #3 and this week, we are looking at the work of another awesome Director and Producer;

Guillermo del Toro

Guillermo del Toro has a habit of creating wonderfully dark films, which contain great storylines, and wonderful imagery. Most famous for Pan's Labyrinth, he has Directed and Produced films as diverse as Hellboy, Blade II, and Kung Fu Panda 2.

Your challenge is to create a project inspired by any of Guillermo's work, it can take the form of a card, layout, digital picture, whatever takes your fancy. Just remember to come back here and link up your creation, and share with us your inspiration.

Terry Gilliam

Terry Gilliam, is a wonderful Artist/Animator, Actor, and Director. I'm sure many of you will know him from the Monty Python team, but since then he's directed some of the most fantastical fantasy films ever made.

The Challenge is to Create a Card/Project based on any of Terry Gilliam's Work.

Welcome to Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls. If you love the work of Tim Burton, and enjoyed the challenges over at The Burtonesque Dolls then you'll like it here. All the forthcoming challenges will have a 'Burtonesque' feel to them, although they may have no direct link to the works of Tim Burton. The whole idea of this blog is to widen the challenges, maybe introduce you to films, books and directors that you've not heard of before. It's all about fun, maybe a little quirky and twisted fun, but still fun.

For our first challenge we have chosen a very broad theme;

'Halloween' we want you to create a card/project inspired by your favourite Halloween film, book or memory.

You can use images from any company you wish, and you can create a digital project if you wish, it's all for fun, so no limitations, just make sure you respect the copyright of the artists out there.

Don't forget to tell us what inspired your creation, that's all part of the fun.
